#RetroMania!

  • I received a complimentary Influenster RoseVoxbox this month and one of the items was a Rimmel London ScandalEyes Retro Glam mascara. I have tiny eyelashes, so I love trying out new a new mascara!
  • To me retro means classy and bold! This mascara definitely gives off that look. The Applicator helps grab the lashes and fan them out. The first thing I noticed was how BIG the applicator was!

  •  Tips and tricks: This applicator is easy to use, and it doesn't add huge gobs of product to your lashes! Just move slightly side to side, while moving through the lashes! Since it doesn't clump feel free to add a second or third coat!
  • To get the retro look I paired the mascara with a nude lip,a pearl necklace, a LBD(Little black dress :) and flats!

  • In stores November 2013!

My first voxbox!

I recently received my first box from influenster!

This is what came in the mail:

Well, they didn't mail the cheese, just a voucher to buy one! The pouch is insulated to keep your cheese nice and cold!

Most of the time my snacking options are:
Fruit
Carrots and hummus
Almonds
chocolate
and I LOVE STRING CHEESE! So this was perfect!

Craft time! Floral wreath

I have been a bit more adventurous lately by trying some crafts! I had plenty of practice in the sorority, and now I have a huge house to decorate! We did put some pictures on the walls a few weeks ago, but I thought it was time to make a door wreath.

Supplies needed:
Foam ring
burlap
scissors
artificial flowers or desired decorations
pearls
Low temp hot glue gun and glue sticks (I used about 1 1/2 sticks)
Over the door hanger
Rope for hanging

Glue and wrap the burlap all around the foam ring! Make as tight or loose as you wish. Glue again at the end.

Separate the artificial flowers and place them around the ring to plan out the design. Once you reach the desired placement start sing the hot glue gun to attach them! I placed pearls in the center of the smaller flowers!

I tied some rope around the top to use to hang from the door, but you can use burlap, twine, yard, etc. Make sure to measure and not block the peephole on the door!

ALL FINISHED! Not bad for my first time! I actually may add some lettering to it later. Maybe "Henson", "H", "Love", "Welcome", "Home" or anything else I can think of.

One year down, but a lifetime to go!

Our first year of being husband and wife has gone by so fast! We celebrated by having cupcakes (since the top of cake is no longer with us), going out to a very nice dinner at the Red Geranium, drinking a bottle of Dom, spending quality time together and talking about all of our blessings! We're so grateful to truly be soul mates!

We took our own photos when it was beginning to storm outside. We just propped a tripod up on Jeds truck! It looks like rain on our wedding day is a tradition so far!

We even ended up using one of the same photos for our paper gifts!

Dinner was amazing, but cell phone usage was highly  discouraged, but I promise our food was beautiful and yummy! This place is definitely on our list of places to go again!

One year later and we're still in love and looking forward to our many years together!

The picture collage I created for my paper 1st anniversary gift to Jed. I used 3 of our important events! When we met, got engaged and then married.

Time to get creative!

Our first visitor!

Amanda came to visit us! We started the night off with a Mexican dinner, a tradition from college. Eating endless amounts of chips, salsa and drinking margaritas! Then we headed to an otters baseball game.  It was so great
having her in town , plus I finally had someone to shop with!

First post!

It's hard to believe that it has been 11 Months since we packed up and left the State we were both born and raised in and headed out to Evansville, IN! We have been extremely blessed throughout this journey of becoming a family and living on our own. We had a college graduation, job changes, our wedding and a move across the country in just a few short months. We miss all of our friends and family everyday! We have grown stronger as people and as husband and wife.

Buying our first new car!
